Titanfall 2 - Respawn is teasing something for the 7th anniversary of the game

This is a continuation from this post : there is something going on with Titanfall 2.

In the last few days, and on top of previous teasers/speculation, the titanfall devs have been using 2 main features of the game to send cryptic messages:

Limited Time gamemodes/LTMs: gamemodes that used to rotate weekly when the game was getting frequent updates in 2016/2017. It was stuck on one mode since 2019, until Respawn began rotating them again. These have a short text description.

Networks: these are kinda like clans. There is an "official" network that every player is part of, called The Advocate Network. Network can set a welcome message to be displayed on their page.

Messages in new gamemodes:



One month ago, a brand new gamemode was put in rotation for a week. It was never in rotation prior to this. Its description was simply "Your Rockets will blot out the sun", which some of the community interpreted as a reference to a line in the movie 300.

The 300th day of the year is October 27th, a day before the anniversary of TF2's release.

Another brand new gamemode was added later, which had the description "Blinded by Science". The community quickly found out that "Blinded by science" was the name of the 3rd round in one of the missions for the game's coop mode, took it as a potential teaser for Titanfall 3, and quickly descended into a schizophrenic fit looking for any reference to the number 3.

Messages in the Advocate network:



Since 2016, the welcome message on the Advocate network has been "I am the Advocate, i can find work for pilots who have skills".

Since Respawn fixed the servers in September, it was updated to "I am the Advocate, welcome back to all pilots".

But they have been updating it again.

On october 19th it became "Receiving encrypted message.. Transmission To Pilot Failed...".

Today, October 23rd, it became : "Retrying to send encrypted message".

The community quickly found that this encrypted message was in the description of ANOTHER new gamemode reading "Receiving encrypted message..Protocol Unknown..Failed to decrypt..Printing raw message.." and then a bunch of hex code.

The hex code was translated to "From candy to copper". Copper is the traditional gift for a 7 year wedding anniversary, and Titanfall 2 is turning 7 years old in 5 days. Hex code like that was also hidden in the latest Apex patch notes (see my previous post).

Also, reading the game files, it was found that this new LTM was nicknamed "anniversaryprep".

May be relevant, Respawn released a new Apex Legends trailer last week that shows Titans in combat.

In conclusion, i think it can safely be said that these are no longer cute easter eggs or jokes, and that Respawn is actually teasing something of relevance for the titanfall franchise. Expect some news on October 28. submitted by /u/McManus26
