Riftbound - Barrel Smash Studios - Lane Defense Survival in a Plants vs Zombies meets Pokemon style

Hi There! I'm James, one of the two devs working on Riftbound. >> Demo Gameplay Trailer >> Steam Page - Demo Available! >> Discord Riftbound is a lane defense/wave survival game in a fantasy setting where you summon Elementals and unleash spells to stop legions of skeleton enemies. Described by our players as "Fantasy version of Plants vs Zombies" and "Plants vs Zombies meets Pokemon", we have had amazing feedback and players are really loving the Evolution feature. A demo is available now on Steam! To Battle! We have enjoyed putting our own spin on this genre, and bringing it back to PC! It's been fun designing mechanics to make this a fresh experience, while still feeling like a lane defense game: * Evolving your elementals during battle (into unique characters with a new attacks) * Spells that interrupt enemy attacks, push them back, and block their movement * Unique scenarios with different objectives * Upgrades ranging from simple battle efficiency buffs, to mechanic changing features. * Overcharged boss fights Some of our experience as devs comes from thousands of hours spent modding games like Starcraft, Warcraft and Supreme Commander. So we learnt some good lessons around designing some systems in our game that we are excited to expand upon in to the future. Made for PC This is a PC first title, heaps of options, rebindable keys, quick cast shortcuts - but also full controller support. We have put a lot of effort into accessibility, so have some nice options in there that we are are continuing to improve. A local composer is currently working on dynamic music which we are really excited about The game will release in 8 languages. Inspirations! Some of the inspirations are more obvious than others. The Plants vs Zombies inspiration is obvious, but other games that we are really fond of like Kingdom Rush, Orcs Must Die and even Diablo have been great inspirations.
