I've (so far) found out how to uncap the framerate in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade PC release

Doing so requires doing some hex editing, so a hex editor like HxD or a script that will edit the game .exe for you is required. If you search for the hex string 00 00 F0 42 01 00 F0 42 00 00 F2 42 00 00 F4 42, it should return only one result. The first four bytes (00 00 F0 42) should be changed to 00 00 00 00, which is changing the float 120.0 to 0.0, which gets read by the executable when your Framerate is set to 120 in the graphics options. After making the hex bytes change, save the .exe and run it. After opening the game, change your Framerate option to 120 fps. The option name remains unchanged, but the effect will be an uncapped framerate. See example image here showing MSI Afterburner showing 233 FPS: here Making this change to an uncapped framerate might have the side effect is disabling the dynamic resolution changing, since there's no "target" framerate to try to keep, but I don't have proof of that. I plan to play through the game with this change to make sure everything works out ok, but from looking through the .exe's disassembly and through my limited testing so far, it seems to work. Enjoy! EDIT: It seems to work if the game is running in Windowed mode, but not Borderless Windowed mode. I'll see if I can figure a fix out for that. submitted by /u/ddr4lyfe [link] [comments]
