Hello r/Games!
We are two devs (husband and wife team) working on Riftbound. We wanted to create a fresh take on the lane defense genre (Plants vs Zombies inspired) and bring it back to PC!
Riftbound is a lane defense/wave survival game in a fantasy setting where you summon Elementals, evolve them during battle and unleash a both tactical & devastating spells to stop the undead legions. It includes a full campaign and challenge scenarios to discover new spells and upgrades to use in battle.
Described by players as "a Fantasy version of Plants vs Zombies" and "Plants vs Zombies meets Pokemon", we have had amazing feedback and players are really loving the mechanics (especially Evolution).
A demo is available now on Steam! - Please note we have both mechanic and visual changes coming to the game, particularly around how the wisp collects resources, the upgrade system, animations and VFX. The demo will be updated in the not-too-distant future with more changes.

A few notes on the trailer & development
The trailer contains footage that was taken a while ago, so it should only be treated as a sneak peak. The full game includes lots more in terms of environment variety, enemy variety, improved visual effects and faster paced gameplay. We have had some great discussions with the reddit community and are planning a new trailer featuring more things including our new animations, VFX & more.
