Weird question, but were you impressed or unimpressed by early 3D graphics?

I'm surely in the minority here, but the graphics for stuff like Quake and Ocarina of Time did nothing for me. In fact, I thought those games were not pleasant to look at back in the day. Obviously they were fun and revolutionary, but I clearly remember dreaming about graphics getting better so they could match 3D animations/cartoons. Anyway, what did you all think of early 3D?
