To the older gamers on reddit: How did games take community feedback back then?

Apologies if this is the wrong sort of topic of discussion for this subreddit! Was just at a developer AMA for a game I love and realized - how did games a long time ago collect feedback from its user base? I have a few questions to the older gamers and game devs/testers out there. * How did games get feedback pre-social media (reddit/twitter...etc) * What was the first (or early) games to use dev journals and AMAs? * What was the first (or early) community forum around a specific game? * What was the first (or early) instance of community suggested content in a game? * Did contract or internal game testers back then suggest content feedback? Of course, feel free to answer beyond this as I'd love to hear all of your stories as a relatively young gamer. I'm just really interested in seeing how games taking community feedback has evolved over the decades. submitted by /u/Purple_Duck_3680 [link] [comments]
