DEAD LETTER DEPT. - Belief Engine - An Atmospheric Typing Horror Game about doing cursed data entry - Demo available on Steam

Hi there /rGames DEAD LETTER DEPT. * Teaser Trailer * DLD Steam Page & Demo - ( consider giving the demo a spin during the final day of Next Fest ) About The game: DEAD LETTER DEPT. is a 1st person typing horror game, with a big emphasis on mood building and atmosphere. You're tasked with processing mail that failed to be recognized automatically by computers- whether it was because the handwriting was terrible, the letter was damaged, or something possibly worse. As time goes on though, the mail begins to get stranger, sometimes almost feeling like it's talking to you directly... The demo is about 30 minutes long. And since I'm admittedly playing around with a weird concept here, as well as aiming for a more subtle horror concept, I'm extremely interested in hearing feedback. (Feedback options are available in the game, but posting it here is also great). About the development: Primary solo dev here, Mike Monroe of Belief Engine, with writing assistance by Scott McKie. I started this project initially out of a desire to finally make a horror game again, and the initial idea arose out of the weird stories I would hear Scott tell me about his experiences doing data entry during college, where-in he had to always travel to strange building in the middle of nowhere, in the dead of night (He actually really loved the job). Anyways, that really painted a mood in my brain. I've been working on DEAD LETTER DEPT. well for over a year now, and I'm hoping to finish it sometime next year. Planning to release for Windows on PC via Steam initially. Extra Links * Twitter - Me * Twitter - Belief Engine Thanks for reading submitted by /u/SkullThug [link] [comments]
