Noblesse Oblige: Legacy of the Sorcerer Kings - Lord Forte Games - High fantasy turn-based 2D RPG with in-depth combat mechanics and a focus on story

Heya! I'm a solo developer working on a (currently free) RPG called Noblesse Oblige: Legacy of the Sorcerer Kings. The main focuses/features of the game are (a) innovative combat mechanics, many inspired by MMO combat (no spamming the attack button to be found here, and no need to grind since there are a limited number of enemies in the game, with no respawns or random encounters), (b) a high fantasy story driven by political intrigue and the question of what a noble -should- be, and (c) letting the player feel like a ruler, from an elegant UI and castle customization to ruling on important matters and making choices that carry through. Upon his return from studying in a distant land, Alexander’s birthright has been stolen and his lands thrown into chaos. Faced with this betrayal and the sudden loss of all that he has spent his life preparing for, he must take up the sword and retake what is his. But a true ruler does not—cannot—live by the sword alone, not if he seeks to create something that can endure. No, victory in battle may be essential, but true triumph comes in subtler ways: to claim a lasting, meaningful victory, Alexander must not merely crush or outwit his enemies, but also navigate the labyrinthine politics of court, inspire his people... and perhaps find love for himself amidst it all. You can find screenshots here or on the Steam page linked above. The game will be an episodic, early access release, but the current content has around 20 hours of play time for me as its developer, so I hope it's enough to occupy anyone who enjoys RPGs for a while. submitted by /u/LordCyberForte [link] [comments]
