Yuzo Koshiro, composer of Namco X Capcom's opening Brave New World, wants to rerelease the song onto modern platforms.

Yuzo Koshiro recently made a tweet mentioning he doesn't know if the opening was that popular overseas, but he's always wanted to upload the song onto streaming platforms. Sadly, the recordings are lost, and he couldn't contact the engineer. In a follow up tweet, he mentions he's willing to go a CD recording and do remastering there. He also mentions being able to find CD quality WAVs of the OP and ED, and even a karaoke version. He also found the synth stems, although he doesn't have the vocal stems. He posted a rough mix of what he has here, and also mentioned here in Japanese that if he does release "Brave New World", he will also release Some Day, Beneath the Moonlight, the Credits theme of Namco X Capcom. For those who don't know, Namco X Capcom's opening enjoys some niche popularity worldwide, despite the game never being released outside of Japan. If you look under Yuzo Koshiro's tweets, you'll see that many people all over loved the song. The video linked is the most viewed version there is at 1.1 million, but if you search "Namco X Capcom Brave New World", you'll find a few more online. There are a few versions of the anime opening uploaded on YouTube, but I know the most viewed versions are no longer there. The most viewed version I could find was this AI upscaled version at 96k. In Japan, the opening was parodied often, with the most notable one being a Mega Man Gigamix parody that has 1.9 million views. There's also a Hetalia version and MMD version that have 100+k views as well. To close this article, I'd like to link Yuzo Koshiro's delight to the song's popularity. He also tweets here asking if fans of Namco X Capcom and the Project X Zone games want them rereleased on modern consoles. Project X Zone is the follow up series to Namco X Capcom, with Sega being inducted as a third company in the first game, and Nintendo having some guest characters in the second. He doesn't say anything specific as a response, but he does like several tweets of people who want them to be rereleased. As a very influential composer, he very well could be the first big step to seeing the first official release of Namco X Capcom worldwide, as well as the rerelease of the Project X Zone games! submitted by /u/Extreme-Tactician [link] [comments]
